The path to Liberation passes through ego death. But before the ego dies, it will battle to continue its illusory existence, until all the stages of facing the need for letting go—from denial to despair and self-mourning—have been traversed. Then, when acceptance has been achieved, the ego, the heart of our identity, can be buried at sea, and allowed to disappear into the infinite depths of the ocean of consciousness. This brings shanti, the peace that passeth understanding. May all then abide as jewels of peace.
